In the late evening hours of December 23, deputies responded to reports of a negligent firearm discharge from a moving vehicle in the unincorporated area north of the City of Woodland. Deputies were in the area shortly after receiving the report and located a vehicle matching the description provided by a witness.

All the Yolo County law enforcement agencies bring their arrestees here to be booked, processed, and housed. The Monroe Detention facility is a medium to maximum security facility rated to house prisoners of virtually every security classification.
